Afternoon Tea Party (May Day Tea)

The Historical Homes of Defiance held a May Day Tea Party last month. This was the first time I ever participated in a tea. There were 18 different tables, all with unique themes! My table theme was built around Gerber Daisies. I wanted something fun and colorful. Here are a few photos of my table as well as others at the tea. What a great time we had!

Even though we received a new coat of snow Saturday night, I have Spring Fever around here! Birds are singing, flowers are blooming and the sweet smell of Honeysuckle fills the air. A new arrival of Easter decor was just delivered along with new fun garden decor. So forget the snow and start dreaming about decorating with fun bird nest garland, potted daffodils, hydrangeas wreath and so much more. Stroll on in for a great big Spring Welcome!

Fairy's For The Garden

Since it is snowing again here in Ohio I thought it would be a great time to think of spring and flower gardening! We just received a new arrival of garden fairy's! They will make a nice addition to your fairy garden or a nice accent piece to your flower garden. They would look nice sitting on a shelf or mantel also. Their faces are so precious and sweet!

Strange Front Seat Passenger

Today while making a delivery to a local funeral home a funny thing happened. The delivery was a large concrete angel planter. After I got it loaded into the front seat and turned the car on, the NO SEAT BELT warning sign came on. I guess the angel weighed so much that the car thought someone was sitting in the front seat without a seat belt!! Well, since it was hard to keep the angel from tipping over, I just had to buckle the concrete angel in place!!

Here is a pic of two arrangement I just finished for a client. She brought in her own containers and fabric samples of her furniture so I could match up the colors. The arrangements are for her fireplace mantel. I used a mix of colors of gold, burgundy, lime green and chocolate to pull out all of her colors. I gave them an airy look and added a few green snowball flowers.

Christmas Open House At Four All Seasons

It has been pretty crazy the last three days. We are changing the store over to Christmas and getting ready for our BIG Christmas Open House. Two many things for me to do and not enough time! (Oh well, still very exciting!! ) We will be closed up to 5:30 on Thursday, November the 4th and the doors will open from 5:30 - 9:30 on the 4th. The open house will continue on Friday and Saturday (Nov 5 & 6) from 10 - 7 and Sunday (Nov 7) from 1 - 5. We will have the store all decked out in Christmas and lots of new items just for you or someone on your Christmas list. So stop by and enjoy the fun and the glow of the lights!! We will have door prizes and refreshments also!

Calling all witches !! Our 1st Annual Witches Ball will be this Friday (Oct 8th) from 6:30 - 9:30. We will close the store at 4:00 and reopen at 6:30. Come dress in your best witches costume for a Freaky Fun Friday. Judges will vote for the best witch costume, the winner will receive a $30.00 gift certificate! Rib Fest 2010

Annual Rib Fest, Saturday, September 25th, 2010 from 4pm – 11pm. The Fall Rib Fest will feature 10 vendors this year to satisfy the palates of area rib-lovers. Vendors include: Nickerson’s, Just Smok’n BBQ for U, Kissners, Am Vets, Defiance Fire Department, Jewel Fire Department, The Station, Nancy’s, Defiance Swim Club (DAYS), and Welker’s Ribs.
Music will start at 4pm this year with Jami Young providing karaoke until 6:30pm. At 7pm Wally and the Beavs will be center stage to provide music until 11pm. If you feel like a “Rock Start at Heart,” raffle tickets will be available during the evening for a chance to perform on stage with Wally and the Beavs that evening.
Adult beverages will be served throughout the evening and the Defiance Senior Center will sell pop and water. Other food available will be fries from Frank’s Fries, pie from Bud’s, hot dogs from Dawgs and Spuds and ice cream from Eric’s All American.
There will be a $3 admission fee at the gate. 12 and under will be free. You must provide valid identification to recieve a bracelet that enables you to purchase adult beverages. Entry gates will be located at 4th and Clinton and 2nd and Clinton.
A special addition to the event this year will be the opportunity to view the Budweiser Clydesdales. The Clydesdales will be located on west 4th street from 2pm – 5pm. The horse will parade the downtown area at 2pm and 3pm. This exciting opportunity has been provided to the community by City Beverage.

This is a new piece of furniture we just added. This was once a twin size bed. The foot board was cut in half and now it is the sides. The head board is the back of the bench. It comes with a padded cushion. The bench would make a nice accent piece in an entry way or hallway. The bench sells for $219.95. I added one of our printed quilts and matching pillows for some color. The pillows are $13.95 each and the 50 x 60 size quilt sells for $45.95. We have many quilt patterns to choose from to match your décor. All of the patterns come in a large quilt, doll quilt, runner, place mats, napkins, pillows and dish towels.

We just got these new prints in last week. I think the little girls are real cute, especially the ones tilting their heads. We have received a lot of good comments regarding them. I think they would look nice in a girl’s bedroom or in a den or office just for something fun! The colorful photo frames are new also. Nice way to add some color to your décor.
